Informational: Federal Court Initial Appearance

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on March 9, 2012, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Strong, the following individual appeared:

ADRIEN JOHN MATUCK, a 25-year-old resident of Poplar, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging second degree murder. He is currently detained. If charged with this offense, MATUCK faces possible penalties of life in prison, a $250,000 fine and 5 years supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica A. Betley is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Peck Tribes Criminal Investigation Division.

A complaint is merely a written statement of the essential facts constituting the offense charged.
