The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on September 4, 2012, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Strong, the following individual appeared:

MIKE ALFONS CAMPA, a 54-year-old resident of Yorba Linda, California, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging conspiracy to commit fraud, investment fraud by mail, and investment fraud by wire. He is currently detained. If charged with these offenses, CAMPA faces possible penalties of 5 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release on the conspiracy to commit fraud, and 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release on both the investment fraud by mail and the investment fraud by wire. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carl E. Rostad is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Interior - Office of Inspector General.

A complaint is merely a written statement of the essential facts constituting the offenses charged.
