The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on November 26, 2012, before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, ANTHONY RYAN YEVERINO, a 19-year-old resident of Seattle/Los Angeles, appeared for sentencing. YEVERINO was sentenced to a term of:

Prison: 63 months

Special Assessment: $100

Supervised Release: 5 years

YEVERINO was sentenced in connection with his guilty plea to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

In an Offer of Proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica A. Betley, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

During late November 2010, three individuals, identified here as X.X., Y.Y., and Z.Z., began devising a plan and agreement to distribute methamphetamine from Los Angeles, California, and Seattle, Washington, to Montana. YEVERINO also became involved in this agreement. The three individuals helped find people in Montana to distribute and sell the methamphetamine in Browning and Great Falls.

In early 2011, the three individuals began supplying and fronting a confidential source (CS) with methamphetamine to sell in Montana. The CS was instructed to return the payments from the sale of the methamphetamine to them. From approximately January through May of 2011, over 500 or more grams of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine was distributed in Browning and Great Falls under their direction.

Law enforcement then became alerted to another individual, S.S., and YEVERINO, who lived in Seattle, Washington. YEVERINO and S.S. helped assist X.X., Y.Y. and Z.Z. with the distribution of methamphetamine to Montana. On June 22, 2012, YEVERINO, X.X., and Z.Z. intended to bring approximately an additional four pounds of methamphetamine to Montana. This plan did not occur on that date, however, they agreed to bring the methamphetamine a few days later, on June 27, 2012.

X.X., Z.Z., YEVERINO, and S.S. agreed that YEVERINO would bring the methamphetamine by train from Seattle to Shelby. X.X. paid for YEVERINO's train ticket, and S.S. drove YEVERINO to the train station. YEVERINO had 500 or more grams of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine concealed under his shirt. Law enforcement arrested YEVERINO in Shelby.

Because there is no parole in the federal system, the "truth in sentencing" guidelines mandate that YEVERINO will likely serve all of the time imposed by the court. In the federal system, YEVERINO does have the opportunity to earn a sentence reduction for "good behavior." However, this reduction will not exceed 15% of the overall sentence.
