RALEIGH - In response to today's ruling by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in the case involving North Carolina's original copy of the Bill of Rights, in which the Court ordered that the case be vacated and remanded to the District Court for further proceedings, United States Attorney Frank D. Whitney stated: "We respect the Circuit Court's opinion, and we will continue our litigation to return this document to the people and the State of North Carolina."
