KNIGHTDALE MAN SENTENCED TO 60 MONTHS IN PRISON
IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE

RALEIGH – On June 4, 2007, Senior United States District Court Judge Earl Britt sentenced KAMERON LEE LLOYD of Knightdale, North Carolina, to 60 months’ imprisonment and 10 years’ supervised release for downloading child pornography over the Internet between March, 2003 and May, 2004. LLOYD’s case was investigated and prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a national program aimed at ensuring that child exploitation criminals are effectively prosecuted by making full use of all available law enforcement resources at every level, whether state, federal or local.

“We are proud to see Project Safe Childhood at work in our district producing results like the one in this case,” said George Holding, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. “This is a case in which the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation conducted the entirety of the investigation, including the forensic examination of the defendant’s computer. When the investigation turned up a significant quantity of deeply disturbing material, the SBI contacted our office to work together on the case. By reaching across the state/federal line of law enforcement, we were able to produce a result that neither the state nor the federal government would have been likely to produce on its own. I look forward to seeing such efforts rewarded again and again as we continue our cooperation in combating this most disturbing category of crime.”
