JURY CONVICTS MAN FOR CONSPIRACY
FOR FALSIFYING FIREARM RECORDS

RALEIGH - United States Attorney George E. B. Holding announced today that a jury in Raleigh convicted DELTON RIGGINS, 27, of conspiracy to falsify federal firearms transactions records and four counts of aiding and abetting lying on the federal firearms forms to obtain firearms.

In July, 2005, RIGGINS, a convicted felon, directed another individual on his behalf to purchase firearms and transport the firearms to RIGGINS in New York.

RIGGINS is facing a term of imprisonment of up to 10 years, a $250,000 fine, and 3 years supervised release.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Assistant United States Attorney Jane Jackson is prosecution for the government.
