IRWIN MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ROBBERY
GREENVILLE - United States Attorney George E. B. Holding announced that in federal court yesterday SIMON PEREZ FAISON, 23, of Erwin, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to robbery of a business affecting interstate commerce, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1951, and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to the robbery, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(c).
A Criminal Indictment was filed by the United States Attorney’s Office on September 5, 2007. On May 10, 2007, FAISON and other individuals entered the Community Mart located on Old Stage Road in Raleigh. FAISON, a convicted felon pulled out a rifle, brandished the rifle and robbed the clerk. FAISON and the other robbers fled the scene but were arrested a short time later by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Investigation of the case was conducted by North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Jane Jackson is prosecution for the government.
