On February 22, 2007, agents with the Raleigh Police Department arranged to make an undercover purchase of marijuana from JACKSON. On March 24, 2007, after his release on charges, JACKSON was stopped for speeding and subsequently arrested. On that date, JACKSON was in possession of a .380 caliber handgun and marijuana. JACKSON subsequently confessed.

"The citizens on the jury listened to the facts and came to a reasonable conclusion. I am very pleased with their verdict. Because of the importance of keeping our neighborhoods safe, my office will continue to vigorously prosecute recidivist Armed Career Criminals who continue to engage in criminal conduct," stated Mr. Holding.

Investigation of the case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Raleigh Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ethan Ontjes served as prosecutor for the government.
