RALEIGH MAN RECEIVES 210-MONTH SENTENCE FOR COCAINE DISTRIBUTION

RALEIGH - United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced that in federal court United States District Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced THOMAS ERECO CAMERON, 35, of Raleigh, North Carolina, to 210 months’ imprisonment followed by 5 years of supervised release.

A Criminal Information was filed on August 31, 2007.On October 2, 2007, CAMERON pled guilty to possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine. On July 10, 2007, a controlled buy was arranged and four ounces of cocaine were purchased. Following the controlled buy, a search warrant was executed where $3,200 were found on CAMERON. Upon searching his residence, approximately 750 grams of cocaine, a Taurus .357 magnum revolver and a .45 caliber Don Wesson firearm were recovered.

“In the past my office has aggressively prosecuted drug cases and we will continue to aggressively prosecute them. Mr. Cameron’s sentence should serve as notification to other drug dealers of our intent,” warned Mr. Holding.

Investigation of the case was conducted by the Raleigh Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ethan Ontjes served as prosecutor for the government.
