FAYETTEVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR THEFT ON FORT BRAGG

RALEIGH - United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced that in federal court on yesterday United States District Judge Terrence W. Boyle, sentenced ANTONIO MCREYNOLDS, 26, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, to five years’ imprisonment followed by three years’ supervised release for theft of personal property from the Fort Bragg Military Reservation. MCREYNOLDS has multiple prior larceny convictions.

On July 31, 2009, MCREYNOLDS entered Fort Bragg for the purpose of stealing a motorcycle, and while on Fort Bragg, he stole a Suzuki motorcycle from a parking lot on Fort Bragg. While in the process of stealing the motorcycle, he was observed by the motorcycle’s lawful owner, a United States Army soldier stationed at Fort Bragg. The soldier was able to stop MCREYNOLDS while he was in the process of stealing the motorcycle.

On May 19, 2010, MCREYNOLDS was indicted by a federal grand jury for a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 661, Larceny within the Special Maritime and Territorial jurisdiction of the United States. On August 17, 2010, MCREYNOLDS pled guilty to the charge.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Fort Bragg Military Police Investigations unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Special Assistant United States Attorney (Captain) Jeremy D. Cohen represented the government.
