DRUG TRAFFICKER RECEIVES 19-YEAR FEDERAL PRISON TERM

RALEIGH - United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced that in federal court today United States District Judge James C. Dever III, sentenced QUADRICK MONTRELL EVERETTE, 26, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to 228 months’ imprisonment followed by 10 years supervised release. Due to EVERETTE’s previous drug convictions, the Court enhanced his sentence.

A Federal Grand Jury returned a Criminal Indictment on May 12, 2010. On August 16, 2010, EVERETTE pled guilty to conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack).

The investigation determined that EVERETTE was a mid- to upper-level trafficker who purchased substantial quantities of powder cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana for resale from numerous co-conspirators. From February, 2010, to March, 2010, two controlled buys were arranged in which 27.4 grams and 53.9 grams of crack cocaine were purchased from EVERETTE.

It was further revealed during the investigation that from 2002 to 2010, EVERETTE sold or purchased 1,665.12 grams of crack cocaine, 1,885.28 grams of cocaine, and 14.17 grams of marijuana.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Rocky Mount Police Department, the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Division of Community Corrections. Assistant United States Attorney Glenn Perry was the assigned Prosecutor.Mr. Perry is a prosecutor with the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office.District Attorney Clark Everett has assigned him to the United States Attorney’s Office to prosecute federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force criminal matters.This has been made possible by a grant funded by the Governor’s Crime Commission.
