COATS DRUG DEALER RECEIVES 19 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

GREENVILLE - United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that in federal court yesterday Senior United State District Judge Malcolm J. Howard sentenced EDDIE WAYNE SNEAD, 47, to 228 months’ imprisonment followed by six years’ supervised release.

A Federal Grand Jury returned a Criminal Indictment on September 24, 2009. On April 8, 2011, SNEAD pled guilty to distributing a quantity of cocaine.

According to the investigation, on March 25, 2008, law enforcement arranged a controlled purchase at SNEAD’s residence in Coats, North Carolina, in which SNEAD sold 7.2 grams of cocaine.

This case is an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation entitled No Money Down.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and the Johnston and Harnett Counties Sheriff’s Offices. Assistant United States Attorney Eric D. Goulian is served as prosecutor for the government.
