RALEIGH - United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that in federal court today, BRANDON LASHON INGRAM, also known as “B”, 30, of Wake County, North Carolina, was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge W. Earl Britt to 360 months imprisonment for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy. Specifically, INGRAM was sentenced for conspiring to distribute, and possessing with the intent to distribute, 280 grams or more of crack cocaine and a quantity of powder cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846. INGRAM was also sentenced to 240 months imprisonment concurrent for unlawfully distributing cocaine and crack cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841. INGRAM was found guilty of these crimes after a jury trial that concluded on June 8, 2012.

The investigation revealed that from at least September 2009 to December 2011, INGRAM agreed with other known individuals to possess and distribute large amounts of controlled substances in the southern Wake County area of North Carolina. Additionally, the investigation established that INGRAM led multiple law enforcement agencies in high-speed chases endangering life and property.

The investigation of this case was conducted by the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, Cary Police Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Durham Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Sanford Police Department, City-County Bureau of Identification, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The investigation into drug trafficking in the Fuquay-Varina area, entitled “Operation Freight Train,” is ongoing.
