
drug dealer receives federal prison term
RALEIGH - United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that in federal court today Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever III, sentenced TERENCE LOVELL DICKENS, 41, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to 480 months imprisonment followed by 5 years supervised release.
On February 21, 2012, a Criminal Information was filed charging DICKENS with conspiring to distribute and possessing with the intent to distribute fifty grams or more of cocaine base crack. On May 9, 2012, DICKENS pled guilty to charge.
According to the investigation, DICKENS came to the attention of law enforcement after information was received regarding his illegal drug sales in the Edgecombe County area. Between February 8, 2007 and January 18, 2010, law enforcement officers made controlled buys of over 190 grams of crack cocaine from DICKENS. Further investigation revealed that DICKENS was responsible for distributing over 9 kilograms of crack cocaine from 2004 to 2010.
Investigation of this case was conducted by the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, the Rocky Mount Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Special Assistant United States Attorney Glenn Perry was the assigned Prosecutor. Mr. Perry is a prosecutor with the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office. District Attorney Clark Everett has assigned him to the United States Attorney’s Office to prosecute federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force criminal matters.
