NEW BERN - United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that in federal court on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, United States District Judge Louise W. Flanagan sentenced JOEY LAMAR WHITE, 24, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina to 480 months imprisonment followed by 5 years supervised release.
     On October 11, 2011, WHITE pled guilty to one count of conspiring with others to distribute, and to possess with the intent to distribute two-hundred-eighty (280) grams or more of cocaine base (crack), a Schedule II controlled substance, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846. 

Investigation revealed that WHITE, on or about September 18, 2009 and December 18, 2009, did knowingly and intentionally distribute a quantity of cocaine base (crack), a Schedule II controlled substance, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841 (a)(1).

This case is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) case Operation “Transformation” focusing on cocaine distributors in the Pasquotank County area.  WHITE is a gang member with a significant criminal history of drug distribution and violence.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Elizabeth City Police Department.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank Bradsher.
