Pharmacist sentenced to a year in prison for failing to pay taxes
Ronald E. Lidderdale was sentenced to imprisonment for one year and a day for failing to file federal income tax returns for the years 2004 through 2006, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
The sentence was imposed by United States Magistrate Judge George J. Limbert, in Youngstown, Ohio, who also ordered Lidderdale to serve a one-year term of supervised release following his incarceration.
Lidderdale pleaded guilty to the charges on February 17, 2012.
According to court records, Lidderdale is 62 years old and resides in Magnolia, Ohio.
According to a written plea agreement, Lidderdale, who owned and operated a pharmacy and gift shop in Magnolia, failed to file income tax returns on which he was required to report adjusted gross income he earned of approximately $249,497, $336,800, and $324,734, for the years 2004 through 2006, respectively. Lidderdale also failed to pay income taxes owing on that income in the combined total of approximately $281,341 for the three years.
As reported at the sentencing hearing, with Lidderdale’s cooperation the Internal Revenue Service has now assessed Lidderdale for the $281,341 of delinquent taxes, which he will be required to pay in full, together with penalties and interest to be determined in further civil proceedings with the Internal Revenue Service.
This case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Perry D. Mastrocola and Assistant United States Attorney John M. Siegel, following an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation, Akron, Ohio
