
Federal Grand Jury Criminal Indictments Announced
Thomas Scott Woodward, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, announces the results of the November 2010 Federal Grand Jury.
The following named individuals have been charged with a federal crime or crimes by the return of an indictment by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing the defendant of alleged violations which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome the defendant's presumption of innocence.
Denny Edward Phillips. Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition. Phillips, 32, of Salina, Oklahoma, was allegedly found in possession of a .38 caliber pistol, 12 gauge shotgun, .30 caliber military rifle and assorted rounds of ammunition in Tulsa on April 26, 2010. He has six previous felony convictions (all in 1996) from Mayes County District Court which include assault with a deadly weapon, attempted burglary, escape from county jail, injuring a public building and false declaration to a pawn broker.
Leslie Howard Bean. Bank Robbery. Bean, 45, of Palmer, Texas, is accused of the robbery of Security National Bank & Trust in Miami, Oklahoma, on two separate occasions; March 19, 2010, and again on June 17, 2010.
Matthew Benjamin Helm. Possess Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. The defendant, 28, of Willard, Missouri, is accused of trafficking in methamphetamine in Miami, Oklahoma, on June 2, 2010. Helm was also allegedly in possession of a .22 caliber pistol and ammunition at the time of his arrest. He has five previous felony convictions (2003-2004) from the state of Missouri for the crimes of forgery and stealing.
Michael Everett Pratt. Assault with Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm in Indian Country, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country. Pratt, age 25, from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, is accused of stabbing an individual in the eye with a knife in the Pawhuska Indian Village in Pawhuska on June 27, 2010. Both defendant and alleged victim are Indian tribal citizens.
Tracy Don Cartwright. Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Cartwright, 42, an escaped inmate from the McLoud Correctional Center in Atoka, Oklahoma, is charged with having multiple rounds of .22 ammunition in his possession at the time of his arrest in Tulsa on April 22, 2010. He has seven previous felony convictions (1993-2006) from District Courts in Rogers, Wagoner, and Tulsa counties.
Bryant Damonte Phillips. Felon in Possession of Firearm. The defendant, 20, of Tulsa, is accused of having a .380 caliber pistol in his possession on June 6, 2010, in Tulsa. He has a previous conviction for burglary (May 2010) from Tulsa County District Court.
Tarence Lavell Woods. Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. Woods, 21, of Tulsa, was allegedly found in possession of a 9mm caliber firearm and ammunition in Tulsa on May 28, 2010. He has two previous felony drug convictions (2008) from Tulsa County District Court.
Rigoberto Aleman-Saucedo. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 23, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on June 10, 2010, after having been previously deported and removed from the U.S. in November 2007.
Fany Ernesto Barrios-Colin. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 30, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on June 5, 2010, after having been previously deported and removed from the U.S. in August 2002.
Juan Martinez-Martinez. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 28, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on May 1, 2010, after having been previously removed and deported from the U.S. in December 2008.
Antonio Perez-Cornejo. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 41, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa County on May 31, 2010, after having been previously removed and deported from the U.S. in November 2004.
Arturo Aureciano Rodriguez-Calvillo. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 24, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on May 31, 2010, after having been previously removed and deported from the U.S. in May 2008.
Vicente Trevino-Hernandez. Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 50, of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa County on May 30, 2010, after having been previously removed and deported from the U.S. in November 2003.
Gelacio Piedra-Soberanis. Possess Cocaine with Intent To Distribute. The defendant, 30, an undocumented citizen of Mexico residing in Tulsa, is charged with trafficking in cocaine in Tulsa on May 13, 2010.
Charles Allen Lambright. Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. Lambright, 55, of Tulsa, is accused of having a .16 gauge shotgun and ammunition in his possession in Tulsa on May 24, 2010. He has seven previous felony convictions (all in 1994) from three different District Courts in Oklahoma for burglary and stolen property offenses.
Jonathan Edward Vergnetti and Gabriella Jiminez and Robert Albert Zabala and Barbra Jo Van Horn and Joseph Elijah Johnson and Cree Frances Clapper. Conspiracy, Possession of Device Making Equipment, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Simple Assault in Indian Country, Identity Theft. The defendants allegedly participated in a conspiracy between May 18 and June 8, 2010, in which multiple counterfeit credit and debit cards were utilized in conjunction with stolen and fake identity information to rent hotel rooms and obtain merchandise and cash advances - including multiple advances from casinos in the Grove and Tulsa areas. Defendant Vergnetti is also charged with assault when he allegedly attempted to evade arrest by Creek Nation law enforcement at the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa on May 18. Defendant Jiminez is additionally charged with having a firearm in her possession at the time of her arrest on June 8, 2010, as she has two previous felony convictions from California. Defendant information: Vergnetti, 38, of Alhambra, CA; Zabala, 35, of El Monte, CA; Jiminez, 37, of Temple City, CA; Van Horn, 39, of Las Vegas, NV; Johnson, 22, of Oklahoma City and Clapper, 21, of Oklahoma City.
