Eugene, Ore. - The U.S. Attorney's Office announced the indictment of Wilson Lee Clow Jr., 63, of Grants Pass, Oregon. Clow Jr. is the owner/operator of a gun shop in Grants Pass called 2nd Amendment Guns. The seven count indictment alleges that from April 5 to August 2, 2012, Clow Jr. sold several high-caliber handguns to an individual Clow Jr. knew was a felon. The indictment also alleges the defendant falsified the paperwork related to the firearms transactions.

Each charge of knowingly selling firearms to a felon carries a maximum term of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Each charge of making false statements during the sale of a firearm carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. An indictment is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant should be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathan J. Lichvarcik.
