
Charged With Drug Possession
Alexis Nunez-Arial and Lisbet Fuentes-Allende, both 24, of Loiza, Puerto Rico, were charged today by indictment with possession with intent to distribute approximately 24 kilograms of cocaine and aiding and abetting, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. According to the indictment, the defendants were found in possession of the cocaine at the Philadelphia International Airport on November 9, 2011.
If convicted, the defendants each face a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum of ten years, a $10 million fine, six years to lifetime supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigations, and the Philadelphia Police. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James R. Pavlock.
