Pair Charged with Hobbs Act Robbery

Elchin Aliyev, 22, and Yves David Weche, 25, both of Philadelphia, PA, were charged today by Indictment with one count of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, one count of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, and one count possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.

If convicted of all charges, each defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years up to life in prison, five years of supervised release, a $750,000 fine, and a $300 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Karen S. Marston and Andrew J. Schell.
