
Two Men Charged with
Possession and Intent
to Distribute 5 Kilograms of Cocaine
Juan Carlos Fermin-Morel and Modesto Morillo were charged today by Indictment with attempted possession with intent to distribute, and aiding and abetting the attempted possession with intent to distribute of, 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment charges that from February 11, 2012 to March 7, 2012, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere, Fermin-Morel and Morillo attempted to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms of cocaine.
If convicted of the offense charged, the defendants face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum term of 10 years imprisonment, at least 5 years supervised release, a fine of $10,000,000 and a special assessment of $100.
This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Joseph T. Labrum, III.
