
Indictment Alleges Man Robbed Wawa Store For Cigarettes
Christopher Cedres, 37, of Philadelphia, was charged today by indictment with robbing the Republic Bank, at 7300 Frankford Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, on June 21, 2011 and December 7, 2011, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.
In addition, the indictment charges that on January 14, 2012, Cedres committed the gunpoint robbery of a WAWA food market, located at 6935 Castor Avenue, and obtained one pack of Newport cigarettes from the employee.
If convicted, Christopher Cedres faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, with a 7-year mandatory minimum, at least 5 years of supervised release, and a $1,500,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A. Nicole Phillips.
