
Gunpoint Robbery Of Pharmacy Charged
Steven E. Watts, 44, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged today by indictment with one count of robbery which interfered with interstate commerce, and one count of using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment charges that the defendant committed a gun-point robbery of the Sunray Drugs pharmacy, located at 5537 Market Street, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 16, 2012. The defendant is also charged with using and carrying a firearm during the robbery charged in the indictment.
If convicted of all counts, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum of seven years consecutive to any other sentence imposed, a $500,000 fine, five years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment.
This case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski.
