NJ Man Sentenced In Sex Traveler And Child Porn Case
PHILADELPHIA - Jon J. Lackner, 48, of Cherry Hill, NJ, was sentenced today to 15 years in prison for traveling from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to have sex with a minor and for manufacturing and possessing child pornography. On June 17, 2011, a federal jury determined that between August of 2008 and March of 2009, Lackner, a practicing dentist, used his computer, a web camera, the internet, the mail and a cellular telephone to attempt to induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, he traveled with intent to have sex with a minor; and he attempted to transfer obscene material (of himself) to a minor in Pennsylvania.
Lackner also pleaded guilty today to two additional counts of manufacturing and possessing child pornography. Those charges were contained in a superseding indictment. Lackner admitted that, in 2007, he used a minor to produce visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct.
In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Petrese Tucker ordered Lackner to pay a fine in the amount of $1,500, ordered five years of supervised release and a $500 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bensalem Police Department, the Cherry Hill, NJ Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Natali.
