
Philadelphia Pair Charged With Witness Tampering
Tiffany Reid, 24, and Troy Cooper, 42, of Philadelphia were charged today by indictment with witness tampering and aiding and abetting, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The victim in the case was a witness in a firearms case. According to the indictment, Reid and Cooper offered the witness a bribe of $500 to prevent the witness from testifying in an official proceeding.
If convicted each defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 45 years in prison, a $750,000 fine, a $300 special assessment, and five years supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Joseph A. LaBar and Eric D. Gill.
