
Convicted Felon charged with Possession of a firearm
John Perkins, 25, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged today by Indictment with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Perkins was also charged with four counts of aiding and abetting the making of a false statement to a federal firearms licensee.
If convicted, the defendant faces a total statutory maximum sentence of 55 years imprisonment, up to three years supervised release, a fine of up to $1.75 million, and a $700 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Laurie Magid.
