Judge Sentences Pittsburgh Man To 5 Years In Prison For Possessing Child Pornography
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, April 23, 2010, that Matthew R. Patin, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to five years in prison followed by 10 years supervised release on his conviction of possession of child pornography.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence on Patin, age 52.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Luke E. Dembosky, in and around November 2008, Patin possessed 687 computer image files depicting a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The images and the materials used to produce them had been shipped and transported in interstate and foreign commerce.
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Patin.
