Erie Man Sentenced To 35 Months In Jail And 10 Years Of Supervised Release For Possessing Child Pornography
ERIE, Pa. ‑ Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, August 6, 2010, that Dale Allan Moore, a resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Erie to thirty-five months in jail and ten years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal laws relating to the sexual exploitation of children.
United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Moore, age 54.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold, Moore possessed computer images depicting minors, some younger than ten, engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Launched in February 2006, Project Safe Childhood is a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorneys' Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims. Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Moore.
