Butler Man Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison For Possessing Child Porn
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, August 9, 2010, that on August 6, 2010, David J. Wood, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to five years in prison, followed by ten years supervised release, on his conviction of possession of child pornography.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence on Wood, age 34.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman, on June 25, 2009, Wood possessed approximately 50,000 images and 200 videos constituting child pornography.
Mr. Cessar commended the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the City of Butler Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of David J. Wood.
