
Judge Sentences Pittsburgh Woman To Probation, Community Service For Stealing Social Security Benefits
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 4, 2010, that Anne Lee Brown, a/k/a Sharmine Locklear, a/k/a Sharmine Jackson, a/k/a Anne Kirkland, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to two years probation and 100 hours community service on her conviction of theft of government property.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence on Brown, age 73.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Scott W. Brady, from in and around October 1993, and continuing thereafter until in and around October 2008, Brown used multiple names and identities to receive over $100,005.47 in Social Security Administration benefits to which she was not entitled.
Mr. Cessar commended the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Brown.
