Garrett Man Sentenced To Probation For Passing Fake $20 Bills
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 8, 2010, that Robert Wayne McClucas, a resident of Garrett, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to five years probation, the first three months of which must be satisfied by condition of home confinement with electronic monitoring, and a $500 fine, on his conviction of passing counterfeit money.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on McClucas, age 56.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines, on October 6, 2006, McClucas presented two counterfeit $20 bills at the Kwik Fill in Somerset, Pennsylvania, and also presented two additional counterfeit $20 bills at Highland Harley Davidson in Somerset, knowing that these bills had been falsely made.
Mr. Cessar commended the United States Secret Service and the Somerset Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of McClucas.
