
Illegal Alien Sentenced To Time Served, Turned Over To Ice For Deportation
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 11, 2010, that Edgar Ezequiel Ramos‑Serrano, a/k/a Edgar Ramos, a/k/a Elias Flores‑Ramos of Honduras, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to time served and remanded to the custody of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE") for deportation on his conviction of violating federal immigration laws.
United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the sentence on Ramos‑Serrano, age 24, of Honduras.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney A. Elliot McLean, Ramos‑Serrano, an alien from Honduras, was removed from the United States on June 10, 2005 and July 31, 2010, and then reentered the United States and was found in Lawrence County on or about May 2, 2010, without having applied for and received permission from the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
Mr. Cessar commended the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Hermitage Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Ramos-Serrano.
