Deported Alien Sentenced To Prison For Illegally ReEntering U.S.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, March 24, 2010, that on March 23, 2010, Jermain George Williams a/k/a Ian Samuels, a resident of Jamaica, was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 46 months imprisonment followed by 2 years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal immigration laws.
Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill imposed the sentence on Williams, age 32, of Jamaica.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Charles A. Eberle, on or about February 10, 2009, Williams, who had been previously deported and removed from the United States on September 6, 2007, pursuant to law, knowingly and unlawfully re‑entered the United States, and was found in the United States in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, without having applied for or received permission from the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to re‑enter the United States.
Mr. Cessar commended the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Pittsburgh Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Williams.
