Inmate Sentenced To Another Year In Prison For Possessing Contraband

ERIE, Pa. ‑ Jorge Borges-Rosario, an inmate at the McKean Federal Correction Institution in Bradford, Pennsylvania, pled guilty and has been sentenced in federal court to twelve months in jail on his conviction of possession of contraband in prison United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.  The sentence will be served consecutively to the 151 month term of imprisonment Mr. Borges-Rosario was previously serving at the time of this offense.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Borges-Rosario, age 39.

According to information presented to the court, on December 19, 2009, Borges-Rosario was in possession of heroin and marijuana.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the offices of the McKean Federal Correctional Institution for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Borges-Rosario.
