Judge Gives Federal Inmate 7 More Months In Prison For Possessing Contraband
ERIE, Pa. ‑ Randy Michaels, an inmate at the McKean Federal Correction Institution in Bradford, Pennsylvania, pled guilty and has been sentenced in federal court to seven months in jail on his conviction of possession of contraband in prison United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today. The sentence will be served consecutively to the 57 month term of imprisonment Mr. Michaels was previously serving at the time of this offense.
United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Michaels, age 22.
According to information presented to the court, on December 20, 2009, Michaels was in possession of marijuana.
Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the officers of the McKean Federal Correctional Institution for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Michaels.
