Judge Sentences Penn Hills Man To 10 Years In Prison For Drug, Gun Law Violations
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Penn Hills, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 10 years in prison and four years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal drug and firearms laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond imposed the sentence on James Leonard Davis a/k/a Moe, 41.
According to information presented to the court, from in or around April 2007 and continuing until in or around February 2008, in the Western District of Pennsylvania and elsewhere, Davis conspired with others to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. Also, on or about Nov. 7, 2007, Davis used and carried a firearm during and in relation to that drug trafficking crime.
Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Mifflin Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Davis.
