Judge Sentences Johnstown Crack Dealer To Five Years In Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. ‑ A resident of Johnstown, Penn., has been sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison and five years supervised release on his conviction of distribution of cocaine base, commonly known as "crack," United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Michael Simms, 28.
According to information presented to the court, on March 3, 2009, Simms distributed five grams or more of cocaine base.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Johnstown Police Department, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Laurel Highlands Resident Agency for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Simms.
