Illegal Alien Charged With Illegally Re‑Entering United States
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A citizen of Mexico, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal immigration laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one‑count indictment named Aaron Diaz‑Leal, 25, of Mexico, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, Diaz‑Leal, an alien from Mexico, was removed from the United States on January 31, 2008, and April 28, 2009, and then reentered the United States and was found in Indiana County, Pa., on or about June 24, 2010, without having applied for and received permission from the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of two years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
