PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 41 months in prison followed by three years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the sentence on Charles Ralph Hammers, 43.

According to information presented to the court, from May 7, 2009, and continuing to June 29, 2009, Hammers conspired with others to distribute a quantity of Oxycodone and a quantity of Hydrocodone, in the form of Lortab.

Assistant United States Attorney Mary McKeen Houghton prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Drug Enforcement Administration for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hammers.
