
Cambria County Receives $14,510 Justice Grant
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The County of Cambria has been awarded a $14,510 grant from the Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance to support law enforcement initiatives, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Grant number 2011-DJ-BX-2492 was awarded on Aug. 16, 2011, to Commissioner P.J. Stevens, Ebensburg, Pa.
Funds will be used to purchase equipment such as tasers, lapel microphones and security razor wire. The goal of the project is to improve safety conditions within the County.
The Edward Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program allows states and units of local government, including tribes, to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime bases on their own state and local needs and conditions. Grants funds can be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.
