Deported Alien Sentenced To Time-Served For Illegally Re-Entering U.S.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - An individual found in Grove City, Pa., has been sentenced on a charge of re-entry into the United States after deportation, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence of time served (4 months imprisonment) on Cesar Zendejas-Cano, 31, a citizen of Mexico.

According to information presented to the court,  Zendejas-Cano, an alien, was formally removed from the United States by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on April 22, 2007.  Zendejas-Cano was found on July 11, 2011, in Grove City, Pa.

Assistant United States Attorney Paul E. Hull is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Cesar Zendejas-Cano.
