PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ United States Attorney David J. Hickton issued the following statement today on the nomination of Assistant United States Attorney Linda L. Kelly as Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:
Linda Kelly is an exceptional person and an outstanding lawyer.
She is a highly skilled lawyer with 30 years of experience here as an Assistant United States Attorney, including service as First Assistant United States Attorney and two terms as Acting United States Attorney. For the last 10 years she has served as a Senior Litigation Counsel and as the Anti‑ Terrorism Coordinator for this office, which is an extremely important position. In every capacity here, Linda has been excellent and served the public faithfully and with distinction.
Prior to her service here, Linda was an Assistant District Attorney for Allegheny County.
Linda is extremely bright; she possesses outstanding judgment; and she would be an excellent Attorney General for the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
It has been my pleasure to be her colleague since I have been United States Attorney and we all congratulate Linda and wish her well as she embarks upon this exciting new phase of her very distinguished career.
