Johnstown Crack Dealer Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. ‑ A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison and five years supervised release on his conviction of distributing cocaine base, commonly known as "crack," United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Courtney D. Martin, 20.
According to information presented to the court, on Dec. 16, 2008, Martin distributed less than five grams of cocaine base, and on Jan. 12, 2009, he distributed five grams or more of cocaine base.
After imposing sentence, Judge Gibson stated that this sentence was to be served consecutive to any state sentence previously imposed, including an 18 to 60 month sentence imposed on May 13, 2010, by the Cambria County Court of Common Pleas after Martin's conviction for possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and flight to avoid apprehension.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Martin.
