Canonsburg Crack Cocaine Dealer Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Canonsburg, Pa., was sentenced in federal court on Jan. 6, 2011, to 10 years in prison on his conviction for violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge David S. Cercone imposed the sentence on Cornelius Thomas, 27.
According to information presented to the court, on March 3 and March 25, 2008, Thomas sold crack cocaine to an undercover police officer in Canonsburg. Following the March 25th sale, officers secured a search warrant for Thomas' home on Adams Avenue, where they seized nearly 1/4 pound of crack, scales, and other drug paraphernalia.
Assistant United States Attorney Gregory J. Nescott prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Cornelius Thomas.
