Pittsburgh Man Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison For Possessing Crack Cocaine
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., was sentenced in federal court on Jan. 21, 2011, to 60 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Terrence E. McVerry imposed the sentence on Robert Burgess 33.
According to information presented to the court, on June 2, 2006, Burgess possessed with intent to distribute five grams or more of crack cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Barbara K. Swartz prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Allegheny Count Police Department and the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Robert Burgess.
