
Erie Man Sentenced To Prison For Passing Counterfeit Cash

ERIE, Pa. ‑A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 9 months in jail on his conviction of violating federal counterfeiting laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Darion Antwan Mitchell, 21.
According to information presented to the court, Mitchell passed counterfeit federal reserve notes to local businesses in Erie.
Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the United States Secret Service and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Mitchell.
