Former Airline Employee Gets Prison For Stealing From Employer And Selling Goods On EBay
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Aliquippa, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 24 months in prison, followed by three years supervised release, on his conviction of interstate transportation of stolen property, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today. Aikens was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $585,941.08 to US Airways.
United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Ronald Aikens, 53.
According to information presented to the court, Aikens, a former employee of US Airways, stole various properties from US Airways valued at nearly $580,000 between 2004 and 2009. He then sold the property on eBay.
Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Schwab stated that this crime was not a single isolated incident, but involved a course of conduct that occurred over several years.
Assistant United States Attorney James T. Kitchen prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Aikens.
