
Johnstown Crack Dealer Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. ‑ A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating various federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on George J. Lawrence, V, 26.
According to information presented to the court, from Jan. 18, to March 27, 2009, Lawrence conspired to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base, commonly known as "crack," on Jan. 26, 2009, he distributed five grams or more of cocaine base, and on March 27, 2009, he possessed five grams or more of cocaine base with the intent to distribute it.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Johnstown Police Department and the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Lawrence.
