Pittsburgh Man Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison For Drug Offenses
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 36 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Chief United States District Judge Gary L. Lancaster imposed the sentence on March 4, 2011, on Dennis Cercone, 25.
According to information presented to the court, on Dec. 2, 2009, Cercone possessed with intent to distribute and distributed less than 500 grams of cocaine. Also, from March 2009 and continuing until January2010, Cercone conspired with others to possess with intent to distribute and distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Barbara K. Swartz prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Drug Enforcement Administration for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Dennis Cercone.
