PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Wilkinsburg pleaded guilty in federal court on charges of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

Duane R. Green, 34, pleaded guilty on Oct 31, to two counts before Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond.

In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that the defendant sold $600.00 worth of crack cocaine on Aug. 14, 2007 and sold $500.00 worth of crack cocaine on Sept. 6, 2007.

Judge Diamond scheduled sentencing for Feb. 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Because the defendant has been convicted of felony drug charges previously, the law provides for a maximum total sentence of 60 years in prison, a fine of $4,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the criminal history of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Ross E. Lenhardt is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Wilkinsburg Police Department conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Green.
